FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
“I condemn today’s terrorist attack against the World Food Program’s offices in Islamabad. The victims, including international staff and Pakistani nationals, were engaged in critical work to help feed the poor, the hungry and as many as 2 million civilians displaced by conflict in the Swat Valley. I extend my heartfelt sympathies and condolences to all those injured and to those who lost loved ones in this horrific bombing. Our thoughts are with them, the people of Pakistan, and the entire UN family, whose staff continue to do brave and essential work every day, despite persistent threats to their security, to improve the lives and alleviate the suffering of others.”
