FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Yesterday, I stood with Iraqi Foreign Minister Zebari at the site of the August 19 bombing at the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs and expressed the deepest condolences of the American people for that tragic attack, and our solidarity with the people of Iraq as they build a secure, stable, sovereign and democratic nation.
Today, sadly, hundreds more innocent Iraqis were killed and wounded in heinous attacks again targeting government buildings. I condemn these attacks in the strongest terms.
I extend my deepest sympathies to the families and colleagues of those who were murdered and injured in these cowardly attacks.
The United States stands with the people and government of Iraq against those who use terror and violence in a vain attempt to slow Iraq's progress towards achieving a free and secure future.
