FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Today, I extend my warm wishes to Muslims in the United States and around the world who have just completed the Hajj, and to Muslims everywhere who are celebrating Eid-ul-Adha, the “Feast of Sacrifice.”
On Eid, Muslims commemorate the prophet Abraham’s devotion to God and willingness to sacrifice his son, and distribute food to those in need – a reminder of the shared values and common roots of the world's major religions.
I extend my best wishes in particular to the members of the UN community who are celebrating these important occasions. Eid Mubarak and Hajj Mabrour.
