U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Samantha Power will discuss the global crackdown against civil society organizations and how governments and private citizens can work to address this challenge in a discussion at the Social Good Summit with Mashable founder Pete Cashmore.
The conversation will take place at the 92nd Street Y at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 22nd. The event will be livestreamed at http://www.new.livestream.com/mashable.
Earlier that day, Ambassador Power will hold a strategy session with civil society activists and representatives of non-governmental organizations from around the world to discuss this crackdown and to hear their ideas for confronting it.
These events preview a meeting President Obama is hosting with world leaders and civil society members at the United Nations General Assembly next week.
